Dancing

This was inspired by a friend's poem which is yet to be finished:
Hand to shoulder, hand to waist, hand to hand.
Drawing closely to one another, the air sparks as energy leaps from one dancer to the next
An inhale and exhale of breath, the music begins.
Soft, powerful, each song telling a story.
The violins haunting melodies of a lost love, the piano calling all lovers to the dance floor.
Feet moving effortlessly to the music, drifting this way and that, graceful and soaring.
Skirts fly, a mixture of lace, satin and beauty.
Hues range from the deepest reds, to the palest greens, to the sweetest blues.
Eyes dart this way and that, hoping to meet and share a glance, share a moment, share a love.
Eyes do meet; every other couple on the dance floor seems to disappear; now it is only you.
Moving as one, gliding across the cold marble floor, but the air between you is anything but cold.
